Donating Domains

It seems we are getting quite a few domain donations lately, so I thought I would outline the general process. If you want to donate a domain to OpenDomain.Org, first of all we want to THANK YOU! We can only use domains that are actually transferred, so please contact us with the list of domain names, as well as the whoIS contact that we may send a transfer request for each domain. Also, please list any restrictions you request for the use of each domain, as well as the domain contextual meaning. While we are happy to accept any domain, we may not be able to take all of them due to technical concerns. For example, I started the OpenDomain program when I originally purchased http://Free.TV , a non-standard top level domain from the country Tuvalu. Due to the way some of these ‘exotic’ domains are set up, it may be difficult or impossible to transfer them. Note that .Org domains require an extra step to initiate transfer, usually by obtaining a ‘key’ from the current registrar. Please also include some personal information, so we may blog about it and link to your site!
